This is a post for guildies to announce their Main for Cataclysm. This is to help guildies judge how many of which classes/specs are going to 85, and to help the officers keep track.
A few points to get you going:
1) In B4W, your Main is the toon that you plan on raiding with, primarily.
2) There is no rush! Feel free to post here as soon as you are ready, but until we start running heroics to farm for epics, there is no need for you to agonize over who your main is listed as.I heavily suggest you do not announce your main unless you have played your class since the 4.0 changes. Also, you may want to begin leveling your toon before you make your decision official. Its hard to level a toon that isn’t fun, so don’t announce your toon if you might end up leveling something else because you have more fun with it.
3) Remember that with the new designs, you can only acheive so much XP each day on any given toon, so if you are planning on levelling more than 1 toon, get your daily max XP on one toon each day, until that toon is 85. After you have hit that cap each day, you can switch toons without losing progress on your primary toon.
4) ALL classes should have a viable DPS spec. ALL. If you insist on being a Holy/Prot pally, or a Disc/Holy priest, please keep in mind that raid composition wins out every time. We like to take fun players, and we want people to play the classes and specs that are fun for them. However, there is no way around the fact that dps will need to outnumber tanks or heals on a 3:1:1 ratio. For each 3dps, we will need 1 healer, and 1 tank. This means 5 mans will still have their current lineup, but 10 mans will probably need more dps than ever before. 25 man mechanics probably wont mean much to us for a couple of months, since we are not punished for running 10 mans, and it will take some time for everyone to level to a point that they can raid.
5) Our current policy with mains remains true to form. Once you announce your main, you will be given a lower priority (in raids, and even early heroics) if you are wanting to bring in an alt, since someone else will likely want to take their main. Also, you will need the approval of 2 Officers to change your Main officially. Of course, if you are allowed to bring your alt into a raid, Mains will have the priority for all loot. Any alts may roll with any OS rolls if they would like a chance at gear. Its better for the guild for everyone to have at least 1 well geared toon than for us all to have 3 moderately geared toons.
