Blood for Whiskey is a group of stupidly happy people who love to play World of Warcraft together. Our ages range from 20s to over 50. Most of us have kids, go to school, have jobs, llamas, etc.
We are a casual raiding guild of veteran gamers and players at various skill levels. Casual to us means that real life often does and should come before WoW raiding, and therefore we don’t’ penalize those who cannot make a raid. We joke and have fun and love to play the game together, yet when the boss fight is in front of us, we put our game faces on. Indeed we are NOT casual about killing bosses.
Blood for Whiskey chartered in January of ’09 on Dentarg as Horde. In January of 2010 we moved to a more populous server…Burning Legion. When that server basically died off in July of 2014 we Moved to Zul’jin. Many of the guildies have played together since EQ and before and still have ties to Spite on Laughing Skull. Several of us work together on websites in real life daily in the Kansas City Metro area, but many others live all across the country. BfW guildies locations range from Florida to California..from Texas to Minnesota to Mississippi to Colorado to name a few.
We believe a guild is a place to play WoW with folks we like, trust and have fun with on a fairly regular basis. We have a few mottos we live by that help describe our guild culture.
It’s always Chimpy’s fault . . . and Chimpy readily agrees, our GM takes the blame. We tried blaming stuffs on others in fun, but that seems to jinx it and so you’ll hear us say it often (especially a wipe when he’s not present, hehe)
Bros (and sistahs) before Hoes.We are in Blood for Whiskey cause we like to play this game…together. So, we put guildies before all others. Yes, Kobibeef! Even before any strippers at the End Zone!
Let’s talk about Loot. Yes we love our loots. We love the look and the stat. We love to further our characters. BUT loot is stuff. Stuff is not as important as people. People play the game with each other, not just to be #1 for gear ratings on wow-heroes.com. Therefore, it is rare that any drama comes from loot distribution in a raid. Being altruistic, you will see people pass for others if the need is greater. In a raid, currently we roll based on best for that class, one per boss.
See you in game.
